Dr. Robert Nickel
Dr. Robert Nickel was born and raised in the Elmwood area of Winnipeg. Upon graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 1976, he practiced for 13 years in the East Kildonan area. He then relocated to North Kildonan in 1988, joining Dr. Marty Greenfeld at River East Dental Centre.
Dr. Nickel loves the art and science involved in the practice of dentistry. He believes that prevention is the key to best servicing his patients. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, learning by continuing education through study clubs, lectures, and reading.
Dr. Nickel, though not fully fluent in German, has served his many German speaking patients in their first language throughout the years.
Outside of dentistry he has many interests including gardening, fishing, stain glass art, building furniture, travel, and singing in the church choir.
Now semi-retired, he appreciates the two days per week of dentistry he practices, especially the interactions with patients, colleagues, and family. And he is enjoying the opportunity that the additional free time away from the office affords him to undertake his other interests. He feels confident that the practice he created is in the capable hands of Dr. Tracy Martinez and the staff members who have supported the practice through many years. He looks forward to contributing to the health of all patients of River East Dental Centre for the foreseeable future.
