Dental Cleanings

Regular dental cleanings and check-ups are an integral part of maintaining optimum oral health. For many of our patients, we recommend twice yearly visits, however, every mouth is different, and we will base your recall schedule on your individual needs. Our hygienists are wonderful and gentle, and will ensure that you receive the best care during your visit.

Fillings

Nobody wants to hear they have a cavity, but sometimes these things happen. Fillings are done when a tooth has decay or has broken and needs to be restored to health. There are different types of fillings, both composite (tooth coloured) and amalgam (“silver”) can be used, and we will discuss the best option for your situation.

Implant Treatment

The ways in which dentistry has advanced over the last several decades are amazing! Dental implants have become a state-of-the-art technology for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. We work with some of the best specialists in the city when planning implant treatment, and are happy to discuss and explain the procedure so that you understand more about this fantastic treatment option.

Root Canals

Root canals are needed when the nerve inside a tooth becomes infected or damaged. This can happen because of a deep cavity, trauma, or other reasons. A root canal removes the infected, injured, or dead nerve from the tooth, but avoids the need to pull the tooth out.

Tooth Extractions

We always strive to maintain teeth whenever we can, but there are times that losing a tooth is unavoidable. We pride ourselves on making the experience as comfortable and easy as possible for you if you do require a tooth to be extracted.

TMJ/TMD Treatment

Have you ever experienced jaw pain? Do you clench or grind your teeth at night? We can help diagnose temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), or help find answers and solutions to pain you may be experiencing with your jaw joint and muscles.

Preventive

Believe it or not, one of the most important things that we do is provide dental care and education to our patients so that they DON’T have to visit us as often! Preventive dental treatments include fluoride treatments, sealants to help prevent cavities, sports mouthguards, and oral hygiene instructions so that you can better learn and understand how to best take care of your teeth.

Crowns and Bridges

Sometimes a crown is required to completely cover or “cap” a natural tooth. This is often done to strengthen the tooth, but can also be used to improve the appearance or shape of a tooth, or to correct the alignment or occlusion (bite). Bridges are used when there is a missing tooth or teeth, and they span the space where the tooth/teeth are missing, using the adjacent teeth as anchors. Both crowns and bridges can be made of different materials and are permanently cemented in place.

Dentures

When missing all or many of your teeth, dentures may be the best option for replacement. Complete or partial dentures can help restore your smile and help you talk and eat with confidence again. In the age of implant dentistry, there is also the option of implant supported dentures which provide superior retention and function.

Digital X-Rays

Our office uses digital radiography, which allows us to take and see your x-rays instantly. It also has the added benefit of using significantly less radiation to produce the same quality image as conventional x-rays.
